FUTURES2020 aims to engage a wide range of people from the South West of England with research and innovation and showcase the region’s rich cultural heritage.
As part of European Researchers’ Night, FUTURES2020 is part of a Europe-wide event dedicated to explaining research through fun and interactive learning. More than 300 cities across 30 European countries will be taking part in the event on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 November 2020.
FUTURES2020 is funded by the European Commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions.
FUTURES2020 is a unique public engagement collaboration between the University of Bath, Bath Spa University, University of Bristol, University of Exeter and University of Plymouth.
The FUTURES2020 team have been working across the South West of England with a diverse range of organisations and community groups, collaborating to create a programme of over 30 events. They include:
Last year more than 5,000 people attended FUTURES events at ten different venues in Bath and Bristol. Here’s what they had to say
“Great event, and even better that it is free so anyone can attend. Will look forward to next year”
“Great range of research projects and enthused researchers who were able to discuss both with myself and my 8 year old son clearly. We had a great time”
“Very engaging team of researchers and intriguing activities to stimulate thought about the nature of research and break down some of its forbidding, “authoritative” image”
